Welcome to Pharos Teaching and Tutoring
Online Courses in Genealogy and Family History

At Pharos we are specialists in online learning. Our teachers are professional genealogists with many decades of teaching experience, led by Sherry Irvine, one of the world's leading experts in teaching genealogy courses online.

Together we want to help you become a better genealogist. We can't promise that you will find all those elusive ancestors. That's up to you. But we can promise that one of our courses will equip you with the most up to date methods to expand your family tree.

With an online course in genealogy, it is not where you live that makes a difference, it's what you want to to learn!  All you need is an email account and an internet connection to learn with a Pharos course.  You study in your own time, but also have the assistance of a tutor and interaction with a group of other students.

If you are dithering about doing one of the courses, I would say don't dither, just DO. Pharos courses are simply excellent. All the courses and course Tutors I have experienced so far have been supportive, helpful and sensitive in understanding individual students' requirements. The most recent courses I have taken are: "The Victorian Household", "The Poor, the Parish and the Workhouse" and "The Enclosure maps and records for family historians". They are uniformly excellent and the aftercare is also good. I can't praise Pharos highly enough. And no - I wasn't asked or paid to say this. I simply want Pharos to succeed and write yet more outstanding courses. Thank you, Pharos, for filling a gap in the genealogical market.
